Lag Spikes/FPS drop

This is really weird and only happens on this game. When im racing for awhile, the game will lag for like a quick second and then i get a massive fps drop where when i turn a corner its extremely choppy and i suffer extreme lag... The game will even lag on the main screen when im not connected online. like it will be a 2-3 second delay between scrolling from the start race to multiplayer.

The only way to allieviate the problem is to reboot my whole comp.

My comp does not do this, when i play company of heroes which is wayyy more graphic intensive.

Anyhelp would be appreciated.

also i run my graphics on hardware/copy if that means anything.

If you have the texture detail turned up too high it will lag when new textures come into view. If it lags on the menu you probably have a driver problem or a background process wasting CPU time.
