Photoshop Help...

Post by Narwall#622 »

Hi there, i'm fairly new to Photoshop and watched a couple videos and wanted to start skinning for MXS. I know how to use the pen tool which a guy showed in a video, but once I have selected my area with the pen tool i can't fill it with my colour of choice using the paint bucket tool (i hope you can actually do this  ). If you don't use the paint bucket tool please tell me what tool I need to use to fill my selected area.

Thank you for choosing to read this and It would help me out a lot if you could just reply saying what I need to do.

Thanks, Narwall

Hold crtl and click the icon next to your path in the paths tab.

After you have you path made, right click and fill path ,then select the color you want to fill it with and hit ok.

It didn't work, the "fill path" comes up grey and I can't click it. Does this work on Mac?

Thanks, Narwall

Don't do that.
Watch this, about midway it shows you what you want.

haha ill stop but most templates dont come with a cut out layer that you can select all and paint, thats the easiest way to do it, but i didn't know what template he had and the polygonal lasso tool works for everything :D

He was wanting to make a path with the pen tool which is very accurate.
You told him to make a path with the polygon lasso tool, not very accurate.
I used to use the lasso tool (A long time ago) I agree it did the trick but still not as good.

O.K., mission accomplished, haha we both agree, polygonal lasso tool works, has its flaws, and may be out of date.
