Terrain.HF

Post by Trevor »

I am working on a track and I can't figure out a Terrain.HF or how to even do one.
It is 2024x2024 so the first part is 10. 0.80000 the rest I can't figure out, the jumps are too wide and they are too far apart, they looked fine in ES though

This thread details what most of the files are and what they do:

Good resource for the future.

Sample terrain.hf:
9 2.000000 -5.146564 48.516369
Map size Scale Lowest point Highest point

So yours is:
10. 0.80000 ? ?
10 is a 2049x2049 map
0.8 means that every pixel in your terrain is .8 feet
?would be the lowest point
?would be the highest point

If you like the height to length/width ratio of the jumps then it is as simple as scaling your scale and height numbers until you settle on the correct size. Right now your scale is .8, try .75 and figure out what the total height change is and multiply by 0.9375. I would keep a copy of the original just so you can reference it if you need to until you find the right size.
