Graphics Card Question
Ok so I have been researching graphics cards but I have never bought one before and im not sure what speeds are good or not. I have an intel i3 3240 processor with 8gb of ram. What would be a decent graphics card to run for a fairly cheap price? Id like to be able to go online and run fairly high fps. Also it would be great to be able to handle shaders and such.

Re: Graphics Card Question
Get a gtx 650 ti BOOST 2gb. Its cheap and is almost comparable in stats to the 660. Should be able to run shaders easily.

Re: Graphics Card Question
Thanks. I ended up ordering a gtx 660 2gb. It was a little more money than I wanted to spend oh well. I hope it works well for me.pinit24/7#12 wrote:Get a gtx 650 ti BOOST 2gb. Its cheap and is almost comparable in stats to the 660. Should be able to run shaders easily.

Re: Graphics Card Question
660 has more CUDA cores than the 650 so even if the clock speeds were similar it may not have been quicker. I am not sure if I would have recommended more because I'm almost sure the i3 would bottleneck anything higher.

Well as long as it works decent for me a processor upgrade can always be done in the future. I just want something to run better than my dedicated graphics card

Re: Graphics Card Question
got my 660 today. very well pleased. settings can be maxed online. It doesn't seem to bottleneck with the i3 either. I haven't played any other games than mxs so it still could but overall id recommend it to anyone looking at cards.
