I really want to start releasing a few beginner models soon, but I can't figure out how to get my UV maps in blender into Photoshop to create a template. I have made the models, unwrapped the models, and exported my UV maps from blender and opened them in Photoshop. I also exported the model as a .jm. Everything is named correctly. The whole bike looks fine except for the parts I added. I did rescale UV maps when making the template in blender. and there was some parts that were not scaled evenly, I don't know if that matters....Please help if you can, I would really like to get a few of my models out to the community. I imported the UV map into Photoshop, then I had to re-size the entire map to fit the existing bike template, and then I skinned it. Here's what I'm seeing in game. NO MAPS, SHADING OR SKIN. ROUGH DRAFT. I looked for tutorials on how to arrange templates but had no luck. Thanks in advance to all who help!
yea, heres pics. But I just rendered the bike in blender with the same template as the picture below and the render came out fine. perfectly normal. maybe that will help you guys figure out what im doing wrong?
Here is what it looks like in blender, and what I intended it to look like in game without maps, shading, correctly placed logos, and exhaust rivets/braces/clamps.
I can't figure out your problem. It seemed so odd that its fine in blender but not ingame. I still don't understand. At first I thought you didn't skin correctly onto the Wireframe but then I noticed that its fine in blender so my only other thought was that the faces are inverted in certain parts BUT if that was the case you would see that in blender. But I guess it also depends on how your blender is set up, you could have double faces selected or applied to skin differently. Just double check the faces and make sure the UVs line up and then re-export and if you still have the issue you may need to let someone take a look.
I'm sorry guys, but I just can't figure this out. If I can do it right once, I know that I will be able to do it again without another hangup. Maybe I can send a few files to someone on here and have them take a look at it? Here's another bike I just decided to unwrap and see what would happen. In game the front fender and # plate are distorted and in the render they turned out fine. Would anyone consider taking a quick look at the files for me?
