Larger image lower quality?

Post by TH_722 »

Noticed when I used a larger (square) .png I seem to get a lower quality on my textures. I do have them very low but I dont understand why when I run the same graphic settings with a larger image it gets more blurry.

It could be that the 1:2 aspect texture makes the texels less stretched on that area of the texture, which would make the mipmapping work better.

So would there be a way to fix it?

If your graphics driver's control panel has an anisotropic filtering option it should help. Otherwise I'd just use the 1:2 ratio if it fits the UV map better.
