Help with this game before I go mad

Post by sultan.of.swing »

I think this is the first time I have ever been this frustrated with a game. To the point I am about to uninstall it but I keep trying. I have so many issues that I do not know what to do.

Things that bother me. Why is the steering so screwed up? I mean when your sitting still and you turn left it turns right, That does not make sense to me.
I did not realize until about week 2 that while I was in the air that the steering was the same way it is when your sitting still.

I cannot for the life of me get the bike straight in the air if I am leaning a little to one side or the other. It just wont get straight and I crash.

Flat turns are making me lose my hair. I have tried a few setups and some are better than others but flat turns I just cannot get the hang of, This also includes coming out of berms. When I come out of the berm the bike just washes out, If I try to stop it from doing that then I go off the track as my turning radius is no longer tight enough to make the turn.

I have been online a few times but It's just a disaster. Trying to learn and no one wants to help, I managed to find one person that gave me some pointers but the rest are so stuck up they won't even acknowledge you are there.

I know the game is a sim and I respect that but the learning curve is just too steep honestly. I want to enjoy the game not have to pull my hair out forever just to finally get a clean lap around the track.

I like the game and will learn it but I need serious help with it.

I am playing with a Xbox360 controller with stability at 15 btw.

As far as the countersteering goes, on a two wheeler when you turn the steering left, the bike yaws left but rolls right. That's why you have to turn the other way first to initiate the turn.

You should run a high stability setting until you get the hang of it.

I understand what you are saying JLV. My thing is when I sit on my Real bike sitting still and turn left the wheel goes left. The game is different and I find that weird.

You can flip the steering direction if you like. Your real bike really does require you to steer right to initiate a left turn.

I don't want to get in a argument about it but I know in real life I don't steer to the opposite direction of where I intend to turn. If I want to turn left I lean left and steer left. Now If I was coming out of the turn in a slide then yes I would Countersteer as the wikipedia article is titled.

At any rate I raised my sensitivity back up and it's better.

Next time you're on your bike, look at the bars and force yourself to turn them to the left and hold them there as long as you can. You'll either fall on your right side or make a right turn.

No because I would lean the bike to the left when I turned the bars to the left. I know what you are saying, If I held the bike perfectly verticle and turned left the bike would want to fall to the right but this is why you lean towards the direction you want too turn. The game does not do that when you are at a stop.

That 2nd video is not countersteering. He was simply keeping his balance and just happened to make a left turn before he turned right.

At any rate this is not relevant.

Go home. Sit on your bike, Turn the bars to the left and lean to the left. Now which way will you turn?

This video explains countersteering the best but it has nothing to do with what I am originally talking about.

The way the game is setup the countersteering works, but when you're stopped obviously you have to turn the bars the "intuitive" way to turn them where you want to go, once you get moving it works out.

I don't even think about turning the opposite when when not moving anymore, it just becomes instinct...

I understand. The steering in the air is the same as sitting still. I cannot count how many times I have crashed because I need to straighten the bike out only to find out the rider turned the wrong way.

i too am a new comer to the game, but take a minute to re read this thread, and i would be willing to bet youll find the reason no one will help you. the creator of the game explains why your bars turn the opposite way, and you argue. smh...
