The title of the thread says it all. This upcoming year I'm going to be on the road, in airplanes, all sorts of craziness due to my job. I'm looking for something that I can run Adobe Suite (Photoshop, illustrator, etc) flawlessly and of course, my beloved Mx Simulator.
I'm not looking to run the game at maxed settings on a 40 man gate, but I am wanting something that will run it at 60fps w/ shaders, etc. the catch is, I'm not paying for the laptop. It's supposed to be a Christmas gift from my parents to me. I'd like to give them a solid direction to look, but the price has to be under $600.
Anyone have an ideas where I might start?

Re: I need a laptop that I can travel with...
Back before i had a graphics card in my desktop, I would borrow my mom's laptop for the races on Sunday nights. It's just a HP with an i7, with 6gb ram i believe, and the Intel integrated graphics. I could run the Nationals, on Compatible or High graphics and get around 40-45 FPS. If you didn't mind going even lower with your graphics, you'd be set. Program wise, I would say it should run Adobe stuff well, considering she used this laptop for work when she was working at home and she had multiple programs open at once like Word, her dictation program, and many others she needed. She picked it up on sale for around $550 a year or two ago. I would say you would want something with an i7 considering how well it did with Sim.
