Sorry for posting a question that's probably been done to death, but I'm an old bloke trying to help my son get MX Sim (full version, not the demo) set up to his liking. He wants to get more bikes, and has downloaded a few bike packs (2015 Yamahas, 2015 KTMs among others). After downloading, I have unzipped the files into his personal folder, but there are no bikes with '2015' in the name showing up in the list of bikes. For example - in his personal folder he now has a file called '2015 yamaha stock.saf', but there don't appear to be any 2015 Yamahas for him to choose from when he goes into Bike Setup - all bikes have 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2013 in the names. I have tried putting the '.saf'' files into the program folder, but that didn't seem to make any difference. I gather there must be some vital step I am missing, but I have watched the videos that are linked from the 'first thread you should read' thread, and followed the instructions in them.
I have successfully installed some of the extra tracks he has downloaded, so at least I know I'm not a complete twit - I must be doing something right.....I think, but getting these new bikes has got me totally beat.
Thanks in advance for any tips anyone is able to offer.
I'm obviously missing something

Hi there!
Ingame you have a few bikes, 07-09 and '11 and '13. What the pretty much are, is "bike presets", or "bike-dynos". There isn't any newer bikes since there hasn't been any reliable dyno charts to get the power from. So e.g. 2013 RMZ 450 has "zzz" much power and the 2011 CRF 450 has "xxx" much power. However people claims that the most powerful bikes are '09 YZF 250, RM 125 and '11 or '13 RMZ 450 (KTM may have more power but worse brakes). Therefor a lot of things you download goes under these "dynos" or ingame bikes.
When you download a skin for a bike, the skin must fit onto a model. The model MAY be named to go under the YZF ingame bike / dyno, EVEN if it is a CRF you downloaded. That is because if it would be under the CRF ingame bike / dyno, fewer people would maybe ride it, because they are riding the bike with the "most power". So my advice for you and your son is that you find a bike you like and download it, that doesn't care which ingame bike /dyno it goes under, it's easiest
If you need any more help send me a pm, I'll help you out! Great initiative!

I've also made a "complete beginners guide", you may or may not have seen it. I go through the most common things in the game as well as the ones that are good to know of! Link to the playlist is here:

Chassis in the same class is all the same, only thing that is different is the dynoWahlamt wrote:(KTM may have more power but worse brakes).

I had a giggle at the name, then a little louder once I realized it wasn't a play on words.
The model year is just the motor year that it has. Most bikes are put under the newest year so you will see the naming differentiated under the skin selection. Doesn't seem like you missed a step, just a miscommunication in the menu system.

Erp O.o Probably is that way, however I can never ever in my life get a decent braking with the ktm 450, not as good as with the other 450's O.oyzmxer608 wrote:Chassis in the same class is all the same, only thing that is different is the dynoWahlamt wrote:(KTM may have more power but worse brakes)..
