Xbox 360 controller issue

Hey guys, I've been playing sim for a while now and my controller was working fine. I played last night and still working fine, played a little this morning and working fine. After a quick break I went to play again and in game the steering was extremely stiff at times but perfect at other times. I tested the controller in other games and it works fine. I have no idea what to do so any help is appreciated!
