Sim not recognizing my controller

So, about three days ago, Sim stopped recognizing my Xbox 360 controller (it is Microsoft, wired). I had nothing else to test with, so I just re-downloaded the drivers and installed them and boom. Fixed it. Well, now it's doing it again, and I downloaded a Nintendo DS emulator which recognizes the controller just fine. Tried old snapshots, as this didn't start happening until the 3-19 snap and still got nowhere. I'm at a loss

Also, I can no longer re download the drivers. Now it just says something along the lines of, "You already have this, dumbass"

Have you tried wiping the old drivers before trying to reinstall?
