fps stuttering

i read a topic on this before and jlv said to lower your terrain res but ive been running this game on the same settings for almost a year never touched them and i was getting an average of 50-70 fps and now it stutters almost like internet lag but im offline ive updated my graphics card drivers ive runned a few scans on my computer and ive checked my cpu usage any other ideas to fix this problem? its reall annoying when riding supercross tracks

Damn.... you get 50-70 fps, and you're bugging about that. LUCKYYYYY. I get about 15-20 usually on single player with not even close to maxed out...can't even see the stadium.

its not even really frame lag its almost like connection lag like the game functions freeze up if i hold the gas for a second in the air i can hit the brakes and then without touching the gas it will automatically rev up without even do anything and ive had a few times where i couldnt downshift
