Re: Making a PC
If you can I'd upgrade the 960 To a 970,
Other than that It looks Really solid to me

I don't hate the 960. I think that case for $180 is nothing short of ridiculous. Cut that back and get a bigger PSU, possibly even a gold certified.

I got a bigger/newer/better controller chip SSD. Gold PSU 650w that's semi-modular. Cheaper case that is still fully capable of housing all of it. Also, a cheaper version of the 960. The Gigabyte one OC's very well and unless you need the "ROG" features of the ASUS one I think its not worth it.

Re: Making a PC
Don't you need to get a z chip-set motherboard to overclock, might want to look into that. I would definitely change the psu to a corsair 750m. It is not much more and you have tons of room for upgrades. That mouse and keyboard combo isn't bad. One of my mates bought that with his build and it worked very well for the price. Everything else looks fine. Hope you find this helpful.

Yes, didn't even notice he was using a H97 in the first link and now a B chipset. If you are looking to overclock these boards won't do it, however if you want the strongest i5 then just go with what you got.jeremy103 wrote:Don't you need to get a z chip-set motherboard to overclock, might want to look into that. You've once again added your own price for a few parts. Why? The motherboard for $180 and the wireless card $50? Are you buying them second hand and that's their price or you already have them purchased? What is going on there?

Re: Making a PC
The website wouldn't show the prices so we chose one from a store. We are getting mightyape.co.nz to get a deal

Its showing price but not store for me, weird.
I like the Sniper series motherboards, I have the Z87 G1 Sniper myself. I once again don't like the Strix just because the ROG tag is not worth it. The Gigabyte one I linked also has the silent fan operation so there really isn't any reason to get it. Still think you'd benefit from a larger PSU.
