Game is unplayable GPU Driver Issue!

Post by Ice223 »

Ok, so i already have this problem for maybe 3-4 Month. When i start the game my Menu has 1 maybe 2 FPS....and Ingame it gets even worse. For a short time it helped to completley uninstall the GPU Driver via a DDU. Well...I could play MXS but every other game doesnt work so i had to Uninstall for MXS and Reinstall for any other game, this was very annoying. But now even the DDU wont work anymore! I have an AMD RX 5700 with i 7 6700k. I saw other ppl haveing the same problem. Well even tho i partly know its my GPU the game now wont work no matter what i do i even tried wipeing windows and keep the GPU driver uninstalled. Even this wont work. Im 99% sure its a Problem with AMD but how can i or the creator fix it? Or did i just waste my money on this game  ? Ill put my lastlog in here as well. I think it also shows its a problem with my GPU
PS: the first few weeks after i bought the game everything worked fine. I really hope to get some usefull advice. (Sorry for my broken english btw)

[42:37:19.61] GL_VENDOR: Microsoft Corporation
[42:37:19.61] GL_RENDERER: GDI Generic
[42:37:19.61] GL_VERSION: 1.1.0

That's your problem. Go to amd.com and download/install the correct driver for your GPU.

I know multiple people who have an AMD 5700 and can't run sim. I think it's a common problem with that gpu and mxs. It just doesn't recognize mxs, and when you force it to run off the graphics card, it doesn't go past idle clock.

Hopefully someone has a solution. My buddy had to sell his and buy an Nvidia, we couldn't figure it out.

There are definitely people successfully playing on 5700 cards. Have you gone to https://www.amd.com/en/support and installed the right driver? I wouldn't trust what Windows Update gives you. Probably best to disable automatic driver updates in Windows Update and then install the driver from AMD. (Control Panel > System & Security > System > Advanced System Settings > Hardware > Device Installation Settings. Then choose "No (your device might not work as expected).")

I've tried multiple drivers straight from the amd website for my buddy, and we still had same issue. I think its a matter of the card not recognizing mxs as an application. We managed to get the correct driver info to show up in graphics options in game, but the card would remain at idle clock.

Not boosting right is a separate issue. He's getting a GDI generic driver string so it's definitely not configured correctly.

Ice, when it's at 1 fps is the driver info right?

Yes, that means you definitely aren't running the AMD driver. Do you get the AMD driver string right after you install the AMD driver? It should say something like "AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 4.6.13596 Compatibility Profile Context".

Ok, so i use a DDU once again, so i have absolutley nothing of my Graphics Driver installed. Now it shows me at the Driver Info: Intel Intel (R) HD Graphics 530 4.6.0 . I guess this is my CPU?? Can i somehow manage that only MXS runs via my CPU?.... So i can install my Graphics driver but dont use it for MXS? Or should i try something else?

Yes, that's the integrated graphics on your CPU. By "driver string" I meant the driver info in the game's graphics setup screen. If it were my system I'd want it running on the 5700.

I'd try disabling driver updates in Windows Update, then DDU, then install the AMD graphics driver.
