Error: Out of Virtual Memory

Post by Juanlox123 »

Alright after about one or two races, the game crashes and this white box pops up saying "Error: Out of Virtual Memory". It's been happening a lot lately, and it didn't use to happen before. JLV help, or anyone!

The first thing to try is updating your graphics driver:

For ATI graphics chips go here:
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.HTML

For Intel graphics chips go here:
http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/detect.htm

For NVidia graphics chips go here:
http://www.nvidia.com/page/drivers.html

You might also want to look at yzmxer's graphics driver installation guide.

As far as I know that's the only way the current version of the game will leak significant amounts of memory.

how much ram do you have? i have 2gbs right now and i run out to so im changing to 6 they say windows takes 2gbs gaming takes about 2 and something else does to so if your graphics are high or its happening when theres loads of riders then that might be it like if your card is good and built for gaming then you need the ram aswell

The problem isn't a lack of memory. The problem is the drivers lose some memory every time the game updates the terrain textures. You would need infinite memory to make up for that bug. If you're running ATI Catalyst 9.8-9.11 or 10.1-10.2 you have the buggy driver.

The memory leak happens when OpenGL apps dynamically update textures. It won't affect Direct3D games.

Not sure what you're asking for, but if you're looking for Intel's graphics driver go to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

For now down a step on model texture detail. Going to switch to 64 bit soon and that should eliminate the problem as long as you actually have the memory.
