I searched and a found post where someone says the dab key is to switch views? I thought this key was to sit down, I would like to know how to play in third person and more importantly be able to toggle the camera and see the side of the bike.

Yes, tab.

You will not be able to see the side of the bike unless you go into playback mode and go into third person view. Hope that helps.

how do you go in play back mode? when i do a race, i select record demo because i thought that might do it but that just puts a folder in my mxs personal folder? what is the point of this? but more importantly, how do i use the playback mode?

you have the record demo to yes, go race have fun make some noise, do to playback tace and load the default file that is there and then you playback the race you just did(if you want to save the demo rename the default file in the demo folder in the personal folder) and when you press TAB to change the cameras(playback mode adds 1 cameras(free camera can fly around) now the 3rd person camera can view the rider from every angle)

I dont understand this part

Click your playback tab, there is where your demo goes. 'Default' will be the demo you last had, click it open.
