Re: post your screen shots of MXSim
Just curious what makes that thing so heavy, the lights? Should probably pick something to leave out to get it on the same level as the other gp tracks here. My core2duo E8400 + gt240 museum setup is talking now

I think it is the light map used and detail in the statues on the track i know on hagg's version when he released it came with the moto gp layout with statues on that as well which played a big factor in people losing fps and having to drop there graphics but as i don't think it needs the moto gp track in there it should help with fps a bit betterJre wrote:Just curious what makes that thing so heavy, the lights? the track has a lot of terrain off in the distance, we've had problems with tracks like this with excess terrain and a forty man gate. High Point from last year one a good example of this. Not sure if a terrain cropping script exist but it would be nice to remove some unecessary terrain for the extra fps. Could also be the 2, 4K overlays and normal mappings on Losail that contributes to the lag but it looks so damn good you can't remove them.

That awesome 4k stuff looks pretty much like a solid color to me with the settings I have to use to get it playableRacers52 wrote:Could also be the 2, 4K overlays and normal mappings on Losail that contributes to the lag but it looks so damn good you can't remove them.

Both the decal overlay and its norm are already 2k but i left the light map at 4k so i might make lightmap 2k to help hopefully shouldn't effect the detail of the track to much but i might leave a full 4k version one for the super PC's heard you got a pretty beasty PCRacers52 wrote: the track has a lot of terrain off in the distance, we've had problems with tracks like this with excess terrain and a forty man gate. I was referencing from Hagg's original Losail he released. As far as resizing goes, for rF the High Res pack starts at the original resolution then every pack lower the resolution is cut by 1/2. It's definitely a challenge to make an environment and textures that look good for everyone and do not take a big hit on the frame rate especially on the mx tracks.Aaron Hall wrote:Both the decal overlay and its norm are already 2k but i left the light map at 4k so i might make lightmap 2k to help hopefully shouldn't effect the detail of the track to much but i might leave a full 4k version one for the super PC's heard you got a pretty beasty PCRacers52 wrote: the track has a lot of terrain off in the distance, we've had problems with tracks like this with excess terrain and a forty man gate.
