Effortless ft. Kellen Brauer
Hello everyone,
I'm not normally one to make a new topic for a video so apologies to all of the people about to rage that "there's already a topic for this" cause you are absolutely right.
However I wanted to post this video with an explanation to it and leave plenty of room for feedback on it.
I started editing this video a couple weeks back and about the time I finished it Jantz lost his life. Jeff put his video up and I wanted that video to get as much attention as it deserved so I didn't really post much of anything else. I held this video til today and now here it is.
What I'm trying to do in this video is hopefully showcase that the good in this game far outweighs the bad. When I commentate in this video what I'm saying is this community does tend to get mad at each other a lot and that's quite alright but I feel some people go too far. Now I'm not saying I don't rage, ask the Barry guys I'm probably the person on there that rages the most but even I realize to take a deep breath and step back for a moment and realize that getting angry and starting arguments isn't going to get me anywhere. I've noticed that when I'm having fun out there and just riding and not really thinking too much I ride great and as soon as I get mad I start dropping down the leader board. I respect every single person I line up with in rF events now because I know the amount of work you have to put in to get to that speed. Not everyone can do it and that's the gem of this game. It's challenging and when done right it can look like a masterpiece. The point is at the most recent Winter Indoor round an announcement had to be made about zero tolerance for foul play. A lot of people continue to say "this game is too try hard". I know exactly who that announcement was directed at and personally I don't think anyone in this game is a bad person, they just make bad decisions. But still it's a video game, there's no need to kill anyone, make death threats, constantly argue in chat. What are you trying to prove? The people who win championships in this game are quite honestly the least "try hard" of them all if that's the term you wish to use. I say that they are the ones who understand the enjoyment of this game more than the rest. Granted I have only been on Barry for a few months but I have NEVER once heard Tysen just go off. In fact everytime he crashes it's more like "ahhh man that would have been a dope lap" and then we all share a laugh while he's leading a main event! And it's the same with Tyler Crain, chill guy, doesn't say a whole lot but his style on the track speaks a thousand words. Those guys are fast and on a level in which I envy their talent but hey are there for a reason so what I wish for the whole community to do is when you guys are ready to snap and "poop on" someone in chat, take a deep breath and let it go. I promise you will get better. It's worked for me.
Anyway I'm not trying to call people out and la di da but I felt like this video needed an explanation. The video is cool, yeah sure maybe, I won't be the judge but my point in creating this was to have fun and forget about all the negative and that is exactly the way I play this game everyday. So I hope you guys enjoy the video, comment, tell me this is in the wrong thread, whatever it may be. Just wanted to say something both visually and written. As always you guys are awesome, I love this community and have a great Winter Break. I know I will!

Such a great concept, and very well done Kellen. As we discussed a bit drawn out, but was still a great video. Well done.

That was actually touching... Starred at the screen for a good 10 seconds after it finished, really enjoyed that, thank you.

Excellent message Kellen. Really touching.
You are correct in saying that most of the fast guys are the amongst most chilled and relaxed players in the community. The New Jersey in me comes out sometimes during these organized races and it definitely sets me back, results wise. I remember in the first supercross season, i was out there having a blast and just straight KILLING it. Now I'm super tense and tight and not as relaxed as i should be, and my results are a testament to that. I think most of the frustration i get is from the lack of clean racing. Coming from the Car Simulation Racing crowd (Live for Speed, rFactor, etc), I'm so used to the serious crowd that respects good, clean, quality racing. It is a hell of a lot more fun battling cleanly with other players than passing them by taking them out, or causing a massive wreck. I think most of the lack of maturity in this community stems from the lack of respect given to our fellow players. In my opinion, the only thing that will help this community better itself is for people to start respecting eachother, and respecting organized races, and respecting QUALITY racing.

Re: Effortless ft. Kellen Brauer
Nice vid!
I joined this game when shack was killing the sx season (2011 i think)
When i watched it back, the races are way more cleaner than now,
But now there are more talents! But i know that the races will be clean again after this vid haha
