Just wondering who uses what. I am using Vegas, but wondering if After effects is just as good, or better

After effects is a more advanced programm with more plugins and whatnot.
The negative side about that is that it takes you way more time to master it and gets frustrating sometimes.
IMO a good way is to do a combination of both. So use AE for the CC, Effects, etc. and use Vegas for syncing for example.

After Effects is generally Not used to making a actual Full Video. As yahama mentioned Composite clips that you want into AE do your nifty effects, then Render out, then Drop er into SV and your good to go.

After Effects IMPo Is the best software out, but Generally Never used to make a actual Full video, given yes it obviously can be done, but Yahama is right, it is extremely hard, and also time consuming.

Yeeppp tried out after effects for 30 minutes, and gave up... I think i will just stick to vegas.Thanks for your posts though

well most ppl just learn the a few effects in Photoshop, except for the few around here, in After Effects you have to know much more just to achieve even the smallest effect. After Effects is or can be a very very tough program to use, and learn.

Andrew Kramer is who basically created After Effects,as well the very best plugins available to After Effects. He does really good tutorials, check it out.
