how to delete decals

how do you delete decals if you have placed them wrong? or how do you delete all of them like on the new blank track?

Select it and press 'x'.

sometimes when you delete them, it gets rid of a huge patch. If it does that, just redo the decals there. If you saved just before you get rid of it, back out and load the game up again.

Or, delete the line in the decals file.

Lowercase x deletes the decal under the pointer. Uppercase X deletes all decals within 50 feet.

when did this become possible? i always didnt bother deleting bad decals i just overwrote them cause i didnt want to go to notepad to delete that line...
