This is my problem. I duplicated my object and place them side by side. The object goes light to dark from left to right. I have no idea how to fix this.

You didn't apply smooth to the model? Cos I thought solid faces had a constant lighting

I don't even know how to apply smooth to an object. I have a couple of objects and all but one of them has this problem. I don't get it cause I didn't do anything different.

It's using the same vertices for both the front and back. Since it's just one vertex the normal vector used for shading has to be used for shading both the front and back face. So it gets averaged between the normal for the front and back faces.

You need to select the face and click split. That will split the face to its own sub-mesh with its own vertices.
