I used to do 13 steps until i was told about action buttons.

Create an action button and you just
click the go
open the track
play

Update shadows is in there if you really need

I'm the one that told you about actions

In order to update (this is ignoring any steps in ps), you still have to:

close mxs
open mxs
load track
switch modes to editor
update shadows
then go ride to wherever you just made a change and try to evaluate your change

as opposed to,

hit a button

Again the real beauty of the mva style editor is you can position the camera to stay in 1 spot, looking right at the thing you want to change, go change it in PS, then hit one button in the editor and have it change right in front of your eyes so you can see (with the camera is the same position) exactly what changed.

THAT is what makes PS hard to use, for this game, IMO

Unfortunately, this game wasn't built around the track editor, not even close. I still prefer the mva editor 100 times over the mxs editor.
