Re: Upcoming Tracks #2
If you dont make it public will you give to people who want it? because I also would like to run a track that has more than 3 minute lap times. I play crows nest like every day. Plus im really slow so it would be like 13 minute lap times. haha It will only make me better.

Re: Upcoming Tracks #2
I am not sure what to do with it. Checkerz suggestion sounds best right now, but also requires the most work
The track would easily split into sections.

Re: Upcoming Tracks #2
It uses that as a base then adds 2 new sections. And of course, jumps and bumps are tweaked for MXS.
Sadly, I bet I have like 180 hours in the disp

Re: Upcoming Tracks #2
With that much time into it, it makes sense to finish it.
Split it into sections, I'd say 1:30 would be a target lap time knowing the challenge of that track. And then focus on one at a time like it is its own level and release when finished. Then repeat. When you are done you'll have the "full version" completed by finishing all the smaller versions.

Re: Upcoming Tracks #2
I'm talking about 2 diff. tracks
1) MX Jones: The Revenge - as you know, started about 3 years ago, "completed" for the RBW track contest, revised and released on a limited basis for MvA - I switched from MvA to MXS before it was complete. Added 2 new sections for MXS, tweaked etc. Over that time span, including all the work developing the multi tile process for MvA, I have invested a huge chunk of time in the disp. Lap times on this track are consistantly 3:30 for me, others will probably run sub 3:00 laps.
The idea of splitting this into chunks hadn't occured to me - although it is an interesting concept and since the track is sort of developed as "wings" (if you recall the original track covered 3 tiles (spilled onto a 4th) in MvA, so each tile ended up sort of being a wing) and would have some natural crossover points.
2) What I called Cedar Slopes Raceway, the track with the purple textures, which was an experiment long ago to see how 2049x2049 disp maps would work. This has the 6 minute + laptime and has much less time devoted to the disp (comparatively). This one definately begs for a "sectioned" release due to the sort of mind numbing lap time.
I was thinking of how a sectioned release would work, technically, within MXS. I think that it wouldn't be that bad. You'd have several different folders but you wouldn't have to repeat that many files. The terrain file would be the largest disk size file you've have to repeat, but you would only need 1 of:
-decals
-sky
-roost
-tiles
-billboard textures
-object textures
And since MXS uses wordpad files to note the locations of all these things (and the timing gates, etc), you wouldn't have much of an increase in disk space for each additional "activity" you used.
And if you had em saffed, then really, no one would know the difference.

Re: Upcoming Tracks #2
I think you should put some dirt in the endless grass you have around the track. Or at least something else, i can't see all of that being grass.
The ontrack dirt looks pretty good, i like the different colors it has, i hope that, up-close, it flows nice

Re: Upcoming Tracks #2
thank you very much for your responses. you're right TimFerry15, I'll put a little more dirt around the track.
Anyone know where I can find an arch like red bull mxon and how I can make it appear.
thank you again
