HD Ruts problem

i have some troubles geting hd ruts in ps, when i try to i select the 1px black brush, paint my ruts, set them as 5% opacity and they are so wide, i cant make a thin rut :/
what`s wrong?

They are probably 2 feet wide, right?

You'll need to adjust your terrain.hf size.

Open terrain.hf with notepad++.

Edit the 2.000000 number to anything from .5 to X. I'd suggest 1.5. What this represents, is one pixel per X feet. 2.0000 is every 2 feet, 1.3 is every 1.3 feet, .75 is every 3/4 foot.

If the track is small with a smaller scale value, the disp will have to be a higher resolution. If you don't want to remake the disp, just make a new document with res that you want your disp to be, then copy and paste your disp into the new document (just merge all of the layers then select all, you can undo the merge layers when you are done). Make the background color the ground color of your disp.

i took the disp map, resized it to 200% and changed the values to
9 1.000000 -2.126446 12.225136
but now its a little to big :/

This is why you set that value BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE ON YOUR TRACK AND THEN NEVER CHANGE IT AGAIN :wink:

Well, .5 is a quarter the size of 2.0... So, use your square root skills. :/ Or get Gordy to do it for you. Might work.

9 2.000000 -2.126446 12.225136 was the original witha 100% sized map
9 0.500000 -2.126446 12.225136 is the new one with a 400% sized map

but, all the track is now "squared" i`ll have to redraw it, but is not that a huge deal, in a day i`ll fix that
