Idea for once the track contest is over
How about once this contest is over, there is a group track build. Have the contests top 3 put in collaborative effort to make something awesome. I see that DJ/Luiz and DD/Wilson are working together, just imagine having 6 or so builders design a track. Every builder has their own strengths, and I know the top builders want this game to continue to progress as much as possible. I think it would be a great opportunity to see exactly what is achievable with several talented people working together.

once the contest is over it will be a little while before any of the builders want to spend any time on another track. I know for me atleast and I'm pretty sure for most of the rest of the contest track builders, spending this much time on a track can get pretty old. Once this contest is over i will be taking a little bit of a track building break.

I'm with Chris. I'm going to forget about this contest pretty quick after it's over, and have fun riding everyone elses tracks.

They did something like this with GeneRally, it was wildly successful. Funnest game ever IMO..but anyways...

There is their homepage. You can see how they do it. Divide the grid up and have people sign up to do each square. They agree on a theme they all do their thing and then a finisher comes in and makes sure it all goes together good. Obviously to make sure everyone square lines up you need to have people do them in succession, which is probably way too much cooperation for this community to handle. There are a few who could handle it, maybe this could be a private project for those people to work on. It seems to me that trying a Joint effort track project could be hugely successful here, just look and see how many track builders get burnt out before they can complete the whole track. Having to only do part of a track could result in a more complete track then we've seen yet.
Just an idea, check out the GeneRally joint effort tracks, you'll see there are some pretty freakin awesome tracks made using their method. That's not to say we have to stick to their idea's. I just wanted to show how awesome this could work out for us if we got some people on board.

Have to agree with you on it being too much for the community, maybe if it was only a group of people.
