What am i doing wrong?

I have a problem entering the game editor.
I´ve red the FAQ and search around.
Ok i right click the MX icon and click create shortcut, i go to the shortcut and click properties and in target box i ad " --editor --hidden-pause" and then i click OK. When im using the icon it just opens the game. Clearly im doing something wrong, and its quite annoying to not be able to make tracks.

you need to have the blank track in your personal folder. Rename it to whatever you want then open the game and start a new race at whatever you just named that folder. Then all you do is press tab a couple times until you are in the editor. If you still dont get it, read the FAQ a few more times because it clearly explains it.

i tried putting --editor --hidden-pause into my tatget box but it keeps telling me what i put in is not valid, how can i fix this

I have read the FAQ a bunch of times, tried every possible way of writing --editor into the thing, and it still doesn't work. This is getting so frustrating that I have to ask you guys how to get this to work. I copy and pasted everything I could find, and I did have the editor working on the last version but since the update I can't get it to open. I feel like an idiot already, no need to tell me I am.

Anyone with a suggestion? I'm at a loss here and getting rather aggravated by this not working.

Do you have a space between "...mx.exe" and --editor?

It's written like this in it: mx.exe --editor

I tried with and without the space, still doesn't seem to work when I press TAB it just switches between oboard and chase camera's. It worked fine on the last patch, but when I updated it I couldn't get it to work. It seems like something isn't the same. Maybie I should reinstall the game (clean install) and see where that gets me with it.
