So i am following this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CQiSVAr9bM&t=414s on how to build a track, i am fairly new to Mx simulator, so idk if im just being stupid, but i have the latest update for Mx simulator so i am not sure why it says it requires update when i edit the tilemap. The preview square is plan white unlike Kellens where there is a dirt looking preview and mine also edits to pure black unlike Kellens where it edits to dirt.
I am pretty sure i have everything installed correctly so i aint sure what the problem is. any help would be appreciated, thanks.

That shouldn't happen in tilemap mode. I'll investigate the bug.
The "needs update" message is just telling you to press "u" to update the back buffer. The reason it doesn't do it automatically is in some modes like add mode you want to add against the previous state instead of continuously going higher and higher on each brush stroke.
