I am not a modler by any means but I am trying something new and make a object for a replica track I am working on
Here is my model

This is the model in game

I am very confused why part of the model is transparent?
Why is it shiny? Do I need to apply materials in Blender?

did you accidently flip normals or is the invisible part a plane and not a cube?

No not your normal map the normals as in the plane normals

I don't know where to find it in 2.8/2.9 but here is a picture of the setting in 2.7, basically if you flip your normals the wrong way, only one side will show up and it will show from the inside of the object and not the outside.

In edit mode, select everything and do mesh / normals / recalculate outside.

Select all your faces and switch them to smooth shading so it will match what the game does in Blender. Then use an edge split modifier to make the edges look sharp.
