Have you tried it? Guessing no because it smooths all the bumps and ruts and doesnt do anything to the jumps :)

I've used 0 strength countless times to update shading, and it doesn't do anything.

Have you ever taken a sugar pill? :lol:

All of these were sharpe ruts and burms..... with the 0 smoothing this what happend!

Maybe you put the focus on 0 and not the strength.

0 strength does effect the terrain, I remember looking at the bumps very closely and you can see it smooths them a bit. I think? :lol:

Someone care to explain how to get "smooth" to not affect the terrain? How do you update shading without actually changing the terrain in editor then? Could explain why the Lakewoods ruts and bumps got rounded out over time.

Not possible that i know of. If you look it says Actual Strength towards the bottom of the bar. It will never hit 0.

I always use the raise tool set at -5, or whatever the lowest setting is. That way it wont smooth the ruts or anything.

use raise, and turn sub mode to lower only.
