It's whatever. I gave my opinion. It's his track it's his choice. I'm am just trying to give my two sense instead of a "This track is shit make it better." type thing. I really enjoyed this track, this is one of his better ones. That is why I decided to comment on this one.

Making tracks technical like that separates the men from the boys. It makes it so you have to have a good technique, and not just go fast enough at the jump and you triple, then hold it and quad... too easy. To hit that triple quad on this track you have to have really good bike/rider control and excellent timing, which is how it should be. I only hit that quad in the main like 5 times, why? Because it's not about smashing all the big lines, it's about finding the lines that flow best for you. So you don't look like a clown come race day going for all the lines that are meant for top pro's. I even see kids going for lines in races that I'm not even going for... I'm dragging this on way far haha so just wanna say this. I've loved every track this year, the shapes, style, berms, everything. Only thing I didn't like was jumping over triple faces but you can't prevent that sometimes so it's whatever. So thank you Barrington I know I've said it a ton but you've really stepped it up this year. I remember when I didn't even know you were a track creator (years back). Now look at you, providing EVERY supercross track this year and they're top of the line. So huge shout out!

Thanks Tysen!
No one will ever get EVERYONE to like a certain track. IMO. The level of competition is so crazy now and you have to go so hard when competing at the highest level in this game that eventually any track will be "broken" which makes them not fun.
Could you guys imagine if I built the bridge like it was IRL? Everyone would just mob way out into the sand.
Id love to try out a race where if you fall off once, you are out. Just for fun and experiment.

Yeah, seriously, all of the tracks this year have been on point. I loved Houston because it didn't have a technical feel to it. It wasn't one lined

Barrington, I don't know if you're up for this, I highly doubt it actually, but I'd like to see how a 17 round series of original tracks, not replicas, were to go. Maybe base them off of something, like tracks that always have a theme, i.e Vegas with the sweeper and Daytona with the outdoorsy feel. But, I feel like you'd find that more fun and it would probably result in better critiques of the tracksbarrington314 wrote:http://motocross.transworld.net/1000174 ... weekend/3/ I agree Eli.

rF could enforce realistic lines, dish out penalties for people that take advantage of the no risk portion of MXS. I think this would be the best way to create a replica track without people abusing the fact that it is a game. All comes down to if you want to have "fun" type of approach or the competitive approach. Overall the tracks this year have been good, I feel that your transitions in the rythems is what makes the track technical and can separate skilled vs non skilled riders and this renforces the fact that these track were made for racing and not for the fun approach. There is a good balance dont get me wrong but I definatly think the tracks are much better when raced. All personal opinion of course but hey.

It would be more fun and way easier to make tracks flow. But after doing about 1/3 of the rounds last year for sx, a shit ton of work all summer last year for outdoors and 15 or 16 of 17 rounds of sx this year, I need a break for a little while.mxsrider96 wrote:Barrington, I don't know if you're up for this, I highly doubt it actually, but I'd like to see how a 17 round series of original tracks, not replicas, were to go. I think limited qualifying and a "fall off and out" type system would drastically change things. But we would need the random fall offs sorted out first. I also think going down to 1:1 scale would make the speeds slower and crashes less likely. Although you lose track width, so we would have to be able to bump each other a little more without crashing.Racers52 wrote:rF could enforce realistic lines, dish out penalties for people that take advantage of the no risk portion of MXS. For me, racing is about battling with other players and dicing corner to corner.
The harder the track, the harder it is to do this because mistakes cause you to get pushed way back and in this game more often cause crashes.
Want proof to this? Go ride a flat turn track with your buddies and see how many battles you have. Then run the same layout with bumps/jumps/ruts.
The fast guys will still be the fastest and will still separate, but you can actually race together.
MXS Supercross has become more of an endurocross - complete the course without crashing to do well instead of race it as fast as you can.
How often in a real SX do you see the top guys crashing; especially because they didn't hit a jump exactly right? Now how often does that happen in MXS?
I'm not saying the tracks this year aren't good, I just don't feel like they meet the goals that I WOULD (my opinion) like to see in a series.
I'd sure like to see tracks that:
A) Encourage close racing
B) Are fun to a majority of players
C) Are close enough replicas to the real life tracks to capture the same feel and style
It is a game afterall, and I play it for fun.

this year,i don't have a lot of fun with the sx tracks!
this year, the tracks are for the top "riders",and they think probably it's perfect for them,i understand it,but can you think to the majority of the others players?

Your point about racing a flat track with people is a good one to bring up, except I disagree with the results. If its for fun and just a random race, yes it would be a blast probably with many battles. Make it the official RF race (basically replace sx) and people will want to be #1 so bad that the fun factor will go out the door before turn 1. Want proof? Go watch any demo from wednesday night. Someone always crashes before they even hit a jump. It doesnt matter what track its on, if I try to match Tysens lap time, Im going to crash. Thats my opinion, and we are all entitled to them. Great discussion guys.

I just started playing again a little bit and love the tracks this year! Makes it feel more real when you have to really sit into a 3 in or can't quad out. Only thing I don't enjoy is the pussy whoops...lol they needa be like Atlanta last year!
