the ai go ok but they crash too often and take a long time to recover, especially on the climbs. i tried adding the orange crash fencing to the course but frame rates dropped too much,so i've put in only a few,i guess adding trees would cause the same,so i havent tried, like this it runs ok for me.
btw thanks to dj for the tutorial on using the terrain generator programme and jlv for a great sim

I recently finished my first lap on this one and I think its pretty fun.
The textures werent good, but I know I wouldnt do better since its such a long track and so many decals to put out.
If you are making another enduro track I wanna see some mix and creativity(sp?)
You did have hills, jumps, and bumps/ruts. But I'd like to see some logs and rocks and maby a tighter and shorter course. Thats all

well according to your lap times i think its to short
i had a regular blank and i made a attempt at a gncc but didnt like it to well and the lap times were a lil under 9 minutes if you never fell but the decals yeah not perfect but hey... havent tried it yet but if you ever plan on doing another or wanting some competetion to see who can make the best... im here

I liked some of the hills on this track, the real bumpy ones. Next time, you should put tree billboards around the place, they don't have much effect on framerate

thanks for the replies,it's my first attempt at a track, just wanted to make myself a more enduro style track, i've only had the sim a short time.to start off i just used the objects from the editor, and i dunno much about textures yet. i'll definitely put in some bilboard trees and looking through the forum i see dj has made some water,i'd like to get to use that sometime and try to give it some resistance and also experiment with a mud texture. loads of stuff in the forum and tracks i haven't looked at yet, has anyone seen some "solid" rocks on someones track and a dark mud decal, and would it be ok for me to use them?

Some stuff you mentioned there is a bit tricky to do with the current game. I have modelled rocks and logs before, but the current collision system makes them extremely slippery (check out my WTF! Endurocross). Mud is another tricky thing. You lower the friction, you end up with ice rather than mud. I've found a setting for sand, that's pretty close to the way mud acts, so i guess you could use that.
Water is a pain too. if you are adding something like a river, you need to add a plane to the whole track. So, this makes the texture very poor in detail, and since the plane covers the whole track, you cant see the track when your in editor.
Its good to see your interested in enduro, and have the patience to make a track. I started one a couple of days ago, and have just left it there so far.
Adding some trees will make your track much better, hopefully someone releases some nice tree billboards soon (FactoryBR). Oh, and try setting smooth strength to like 0.5, focus to 1, and apply to the whole terrain, that will increase your framerate, whilst still leaving the track pretty much the same detail

thanks for the tips DJ, your wtf enduro x was where i spotted your water, pah i was hoping to just make a depression and bung the water in

perhaps an easier route would be to make a water statue (like a hay bale but different solidity),add as many as you want to get the depth and area you need, setting at the required height like you can with a statue and give it some resistance when you go through it like you got with those orange crash fences.
i made a bridge out of those hay bales, cos they're solid and look like stone, used loads of 'em made 'em at different heights so i could build them up,then tried to ride across, i learnt the hardway how slippery those things are, back to the drawing board, shouda tried a line on the ground first i guess:lol:
i'll try applying that smooth technique,i never worked out what the focus tool does or snap?

The water is a statue in that track. If you start using more than one statue for it, it doesn't line up properly and looks crap.
A focus of 0 will mean that the outer edge of the circle does nothing, but as you go in the circle more, it approaches the maximum set strength. A focus of 1 has max strength set throughout the whole circle
