MW2 on PS3 not working

I havnt been on Modern Warefare 2 on my ps3 for about 4 or 5 months and I tried to go on it yesterday but it's not working. If I log in to my account and then try and go on the game it gets to the infinity ward logo whilst loading and then sends me back out to the main playstation screen. If I load the game up and go to multiplayer and then log into my account, it says connecting to matchmaking server once I have logged in and then sends me out to the playstation screen again.

The campaign mode works fine but only if I dont log into my account. I've had the game from new since it came out years ago and the disc doesnt have a single scratch as I take good care of my games so I dont think that is the problem. I had a bit of a search online and about the only thing I could find was port forwarding to fix the problem.

Has anyone else had this problem or similar problems with other games? What was the problem and how did you fix it? I'll probably give port forwarding a go tonight but I was just wondering if there is anything else I can do to fix the problem?

i was playing that game just the other day on ps3 worked fine idk

Yeh I can see some of my friends playing it. I think it's something to do with my router.
