I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

i saw a pic of the leatt after a big crash, the back of the leatt that stops you from pushing your neck back had snaped, but the rider was fine i will try and look for the pic

Well yes and no.. I have heard that a Leatt does increase your chances of breaking your collar bone, however I would gladly trade in my clavicle for one of my vertebrates.. As somebody else said in this thread, the Alpinestars Bionic Brace doesn't break your collarbone however with a price tag of $700 its a little too steep for me.. I have had a Leatt since about 2 months after they came out, and I have never had a problem with it ever.. I will never ride without it again, its like my knee braces, I can't stand to ride without them..

So I have seen a few riders using the new neck braces and have seen a few pros using them aswell. Should I get one? How important are they? I know theyre new so most people dont know about thier benefits but are they the new must have thing?

The main benefits are they highly reduce your chances of breaking your neck in a crash. Also they have been out for over a year and a half and im sure almost every pro rider uses them now. As for whether they are a must have... if you really value your life i think they are. When i used to ride i would never ride with out one
