EDIT:
And Obama is president, so I'm sure a lot of our military spending and deployment will be cut.
Never said anyone in usa are(is?) an asshole, just that They(the guys with power) talk about freedom (not you garasaki) and world peace and this and that, and still they keep sending troops everywhere.
And like cuzmxer said there isnt a fight in iraq anymore, and still they are sending troops there.
There are more troops coming out then going in. You need people in, regardless. People can't be stationed there for 10 years.
But yeah, I do agree that we get into a lot of buisness we shouldn't though, but hey, without the US, how much different do you think the world would be?
i would say to make it better in the long run i would enlist first and do the schooling within your first term. this is because you will then already know how everything works and you will be able to make better decisions for your troops. i am around boot ass officers all day long that dont have a clue about anything because they went to school and came right in as a officer. there really isnt that much of a problem with that because you will learn over time. but it is really annoying to all the enlisted having to listen to a boot officer that doesnt know how to do anything or how to run anything. but either way you can do it.
and yes obama has already started to cut funds and deployments. within the next year there will be no one going to iraq any more. everything is in afganastan. and even there he is planning cuts. there is even word going around that he is gonna cut back on the military all together. meaning if you are in you cant reinlist and if you want to enlist you will only beable to serve one term. i dont know if and when this will happen. but if it does its gonna suck for alot of people.
there isnt really anything going on in iraq anymore. there are still the few little things that happen here and there just like any other country. the main thing we are doing there is helping start to take down all the axillary bases all over the place. there is talk that alasad may become a permenant military base. but who knows how true that is. we arent just going over there to harrass anyone. we are just preparing everything to take down and send to afganistan.
he wasnt saying anything about canada its self. he was talking about when the draft happend in vietnam. the guys that were to pussy to go all left for canada so they wouldnt have to fight. thats all he was talking about.
Im sorry i really didn't make it apparent that was sarcasim. I take alot of stuff in school about Canada. The favorite in my typing/business class is everyone has the 'Gay Canadian' flag as their background.

I get back at em though

lol even as an american i thought that was pretty funny
But anyway, I'm going to have a hard time telling my mom that I'm thinking of enlisting. She barely wanted me to come out as an officer because I might get shot or something. :/
