and he has to pay a shit ton of taxes, what ever country he is winning money in, he has to pay them taxes and that can add up to BIG $$$$$
Re: gaming
Havoc you're frustrating me man. Yes clearly violence happens everywhere. But not nearly as much as in America. Read this article I'm on my phone do ill just paste the link http://joanellis.com/reviews/BOWLING_FOR_COLUMBINE.htm

Re: gaming
This paragraph in particular.
" Think of the annual statistics on death by guns: Germany, 381; France, 255; Canada, 165, England, 68; Australia, 65; Japan, 39; America 11,127. Japan writes and sells the most violent video games available. Germany is the home of the violent Gothic music tradition. England has a higher divorce rate than the U.S. Ten million Canadians own seven million guns, but only Americans, it seems, shoot each other. Why?"

Re: gaming
The death by guns per year statistic is BS. You're going to compare Japan to America? How about comparing it to California?

Re: gaming
Dylan, you were frustrating me with..."Every household has at least one." and "That shit doesn't happen anywhere else." Those are very generalized, all-inclusive statements that lumps the entire country into one. Phat will pick gnat shit out of pepper trying to be in the right, especially assuming those facts. Oh, and grats on not using your obligitory...

Most LAN-party pay-outs are in cash. Just act like a kid that likes gaming and is willing to throw is life away for that and you're fine when it comes down to taxes. Those dudes who check everything probarly don't even know you can make a living out of gaming.02ranger_mike wrote:Wings wrote: i know a professional cod player travelling around the world clocking ~$300,000 p.a so that's a fair amount of money.

However I must say you can easily grab a 0 off that number. Pay-outs at the world championships (yes there are 3 of them) are around 15-20 000 per team. Split that by 6-7 person (5 players, coach/trainer + massage therapist) and you can never earn 300 000 bucks a year. However sponsors love good gamers and those deals aren't quite bad, but still. The live he's living is pretty nice though, since most of the time he's probarly spending in 4-5 stars hotel without having to pay a dime for that. And he's probarly having a NASA pc which even make him earn money if he tweets it with a photo with the title: check out my pc that makes me win.
Been there done that, but in less bigger proportions, still it was fun
