MXGP on ps4 is a lot better than I expected, it's no simulator but it works well and doesn't get boring IMO. Graphics are really good too. It does have some problems but nothing major. Fuck mx vs atv supercross it's appalling.

I'm not disagreeing with your opinion of the game itself, but your reasoning why it is that way is so far wrong you have zero clue.Motoboss wrote:Horrible game...Were going on 2015 and were still dealing with the same issues that we dealt with in 2004 in fact Its gotten worse .I love when people that have only ridden a dirt bike a few times think they are an expert on MX and feel qualified to make a game on it because after playing this game there is no way any of them have ridden for any length of time or raced for that matter. This also goes for 99% of all other MX games.. When are we going to get a true to motocross game? It boggles my mind .Sports that dont have half the fan base have better games !!! I know one big problem that stands out is they need to quit having pro riders that race all the time testing the game .They dont care about immersion, all they care about is if its easy to play and there names in it.This really hurts the majority of the guys that play the game because we dont race any more and we want that feeling back of getting out there ..
Sorry for my rant but seriously when is it going to happen.....There's a lot more I want to say but ill leave it at that.
You have zero clue the amount of riding/racing background the staff has or doesn't have.
"Pro riders testing the game" - in my experience has only been in 2 ways in the last 7 years or so...
1) Open house the day before the PHX SX yearly where teams/riders/companies come play the game and download their thoughts with the dev team
2) Marketing opportunities, usually at the end or near the end of the title launching, where they really aren't "testing" the game, they are building marketing content.
My opinion, the game surpassed my expectations (they were low, I know what they started with), but still has an inconsistent "clunky" feel instead of smooth and flowy. It does feel sick when you nail some ridiculous rhythms, but that feeling is generally short lived. If I played long enough to get that consistently I'm sure I'd love it, but I don't like it enough to do that.

Personally, I love it so far. I have only completed the 250 E and W series.
My expectations going in were also low, but from the early videos I was hoping for a variant of MXvATV or MXU with updated graphics and career mode. For me, I've played enough sim to not care to want anything that even attempts to produce a sim like feel. I want pure arcade, pick up and play, fun replay value. So far it's providing that although the physics are a bit wonky at times. I would like to see a bit better in air control (maybe it's just me). And as far as glitches, such as the start gate glitch, I can overlook those...but it doesn't give that warm and fuzzy polished feel. Anywho, @ $30 how can you beat it?! Great purchase.

Your right on me having no clue on what goes on because I dont, I am just guessing obviously ..but from where I sit this is the only thing I can come up with ..As i said it boggles my mind, Its no secret what MX guys want from a game its been stated a 1000 times over the years and these are the games we are still getting .As far as what people are expecting, they had all the MVA series to work with and they went backwards ...lolcheckerz wrote:I'm not disagreeing with your opinion of the game itself, but your reasoning why it is that way is so far wrong you have zero clue.Motoboss wrote:Horrible game...Were going on 2015 and were still dealing with the same issues that we dealt with in 2004 in fact Its gotten worse .I love when people that have only ridden a dirt bike a few times think they are an expert on MX and feel qualified to make a game on it because after playing this game there is no way any of them have ridden for any length of time or raced for that matter. This also goes for 99% of all other MX games.. When you have a known, big-name developer doing it, there's corporate pressure to churn out something, quality takes a back seat when deadlines approach. What we need is some eastern-european startup to take their time and create something of quality physics and visuals. Kinda like Arma. No consoles either!

Re: Mx Vs Atv Supercross [Your Thoughts]
Just wanna say. Although the game is bad the reason isn't the staff, it's corporate. Look at mxs for example it has a learning curve most don't want to, well learn. If they made a hardcore Mx game it might not sell as well and would likely make less money therefore corporate isn't happy. A lot of games aren't about much more than making money. I'm not saying this is one of those but people don't make games and sell them for $5 because they're proud of what they make. Profit is a large factor. You can't make an amazing and realistic game for a small market and turn a needed profit.

Re: Mx Vs Atv Supercross [Your Thoughts]
This is the most pathetic piece of shit and should not even be allowed to have 'Mx' in the title. It is a fucking disgrace that they can release this type of game, fucking over the useless cunts. There is no effort put into this what so ever, old gear from Alive, same default models from Alive, the emotions even at menu are glitchy as fuck and look like they're coded by a 5 yr old. Cluth is now apparently a fucking turbo button that, preload is now a turbo button as well as your bike is now a a spring. Same default skins as Alive, same sounds even some of the same fucking music? The tracks aren't all too bad it's too bad the physics are like a penguin on Meth. It is fucking disgusting the way the game plays, how can you possibly be happy DDMX? I agree i want an arcade type of game to break from Simulator but fuck me, this is beyond a joke, it feels like you're riding a rock with wheels and a pair of handlebars, how the fuck can you possibly release something like this after knowing the negative feedback from the last fucking title? I wish i had the pleasure of meeting who ever said "yep, that's it that's how i want the game to feel" so i could slap the dumb cunt in the face tell him to wake up to him self. Jlv managed to make THE BEST Mx game ever made by a fucking mile shits all over the whole series combined, he's a single entity... I'm sure they could come up with something close to Simulator and dull it back slightly so you don't have the same learning curve and can have fun with friends still. They were onto something with Reflex it was still off but they were close and Alive & Supercross they've just fucked it completely i am just so angry how this can happen after all these years of getting the EXACT same fucking responses from 90% of the community that they still do this like for FUCK SAKE YOU DUMB MOTHER FUCKERS Where the fuck is there forum so i can go rant over there?

Re: Mx Vs Atv Supercross [Your Thoughts]
Stocksy you're not you when you don't eat a snickers.
I definitely have my grief's but clearly that's not doing much to change the franchise so why bother being upset?
Dislikes:
-Unpredictable preload
-A win by 40 seconds on Amateur is a 6th place finish on Pro and a 3rd place finish on All time... the AI needs tuning
-Glitches on the start line and minor areas. Did they test??
Bear in mind I didn't buy Alive so it's been a while since I've been behind the controller for an MXvATV game. For that reason I don't notice the repeat gear, repeat music, repeat animations etc. I'll continue to stick by my word that for $30 it's a fun game. Do we deserve a better arcade game? Hell yes... Can we (I) live with this one? Yes.

I'll venture a guess and say you bought said title? Do you even have a disk you can use as a coaster?stocksy129 wrote:....so i can go rant...

To get max preload I think you have to time it right on the jump face. It makes it harder but is really annoying sometimes when you are trying to hit hard rhythms. I do not know why people set their expectations so high for this game. I knew it would be a budget title and was not expecting much but new physics and tracks. I was more disappointed in Forza Horizon 2 for the Xbox 360 biggest waste of money ever. AI is rather inconsistent I have had races on rookie where James Stewart goes as fast or faster than All-Time and you cannot win; other times they battle to last lap and then crash/slow down.ddmx wrote:Stocksy you're not you when you don't eat a snickers.![]()

Re: Mx Vs Atv Supercross [Your Thoughts]
Nordic from the start (I remember because I called it) said that this wasn't a new game. It was the unreleased MVA Supercross title previously worked on before it was shutdown by THQ and they were doing this as a learning experience/get an early jump on an investment. The game was $30 because they knew it wasn't a full game worth full price. Also, Nordic has no background in racing games to say that this was going to be successful. I wanted so badly, when the rumors came out that MVA rights were picked up by another company, that it would be someone with such knowledge of racing and making them fun arcade versions such as Milestone or Codemasters. I guess its a waiting game to see if Nordic can figure it out on their own true go at it but I'm not holding my breath. Milestone is making some good moves in the two-wheel world and there are where my excitement for arcade/console MX is.

Their newest one seems to take on a Tourist Trophy feel with an open world feeling maybe? Either way seems like it will be really fun.
