I know a few people who just like 18" wheels for some reason, they don't even ride anywhere else than on mx tracks.

Re: post pics of your bikes
The PO put on the 18 inch rim since he raced hare scrambles. I took off the 3.4 gallon tank, bark busters, and the 10oz FWW. Feels a little different at first more plush harder to feel the track with the rear wheel if that makes sense. Kind of like the difference between low profile tires and normal car tires just more cushion better ride. I would do some offroad with it, but I'm not very tall only 5' 8'' so it can be tricky to put my feet down if I stop in a technical section. Would have to shave the seat and put back on the FWW to reduce stalling.yzmxer608 wrote:Nice! Do more off road stuff with that size wheel setup?
The difference with the 10oz FWW and the stock is night and day. 10oz was all smooth and linear with no hit and the gears would pull further (not as fast revving). With the stock flywheel the gears feel shorter. The bike is very abrupt and instantaneous when modulating the throttle especially in the lower gears (1st-2nd). 3rd and 4th aren't that bad they are wide enough so the power is relatively smooth. Probably just need more seat time to adapt.
Read an interesting article about Eric Geboers and his 1989 RC500M. He claims he lost the title because he went with the 18 inch rear rim saying it felt too floaty and not as stable.

Have you taken her for a spin yet with the new mods? YZ's already look so good from the factory they don't need much.

Re: post pics of your bikes
Thanks guys! Nope just got it back together with a new top end. Going to finish heat cycling it today then hopefully ride next weekend. Always thought the factory 250's looked good right before they switched to the cheater bikes full time. Pretty much stock looking without a ton of ugly colored logos all over.
