Just need to be a little critical and *GASP!* use one's brain */GASP* when reading those places. Not much more to it.I've always been weary of taking facts from bodybuilding websites. They tend to be so overly ridiculous that I just go right to personal preference and medical fact.
The medical "fact" world is also full of shit that one needs to sift through. Just take a look at how Ancel Keys tampered with his studies to produce the results he wanted and pushed them on the general public regardless of opposing evidence. Thanks to him, the majority of people in developed countries now eat low fat, high carb diets that's fucking up their health. Not to say that's the only thing fucking up their health, but it sure doesn't help.
The best thing anyone should do in regards to nutrition is, first read up on it with critical eye and then find out what works for them, and them only through experimentation.
I was fine for the few months I did it nonstop (more than fine, never felt better), but there's always the chance that I just happen to be a lucky chump and have safeties in my genes for it.Ketosis can also be very dangerous. I've thought of trying the paleo diet, because in theory it works, however I don't know if I'm willing to allow my brain to convert from sugars to ketones. That's kind of scary. Haha.
It does get pretty tiresome after a while though as keeping the carbs so low (less than 30g per day) makes it impossible to eat a lot of modern foods.
