THQ auctioning MX Franchise

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

Didn't they already auction some other titles off? Wonder if those sales prices can be dug up just to get an idea of a price.

Check this out...

Seriously though I wish checkerz would spill the beans on this tournament version of MX vs ATV. Sounds interesting, too bad it never saw the light of day.
Not really a "ton" to tell. I spent the 2nd half of the Alive "cycle" writing a shit ton of design docs for it and felt like it had the internal backing (inside Rainbow) to stay the product it was supposed to be. At the end of the day, the physics still would have been a downfall, and much of the rest of it was in a very infant stage besides displacements and some texturing on 16 "real scaled" SX tracks.

I'm heading to the bank for a loan as soon as I find how the hell to bid. I just hope there is enough left in my piggybank after that is all said and done to pay JLV to fix the physics. (somewhat joking on the first part, and truly doubt the 2nd part could happen)

Between the people that you know Checkerz, it could turn into something sick. Crazy how much that stuff is worth. I never would have guessed it.
So lets say you could buy it at $200k. How much more would you have wrapped up in producing a new game, and having it sit on store shelves? The 200k is sounding like the small end of the equation.

You'd really be buying the engine...Think a stock version of MXS I would guess. The good thing is it was far enough along to be a playable game. Instead of thinking big game on a WalMart store shelf, think indie development available for download. You're making things way more reasonable there.... now getting through QA and all that... yea guessing that's an investment and a half.

See this is constructive conversation:)

I just hope someone, anyone, grabs the franchise and does something with it.
That would be better than it not selling at all, and nothing come from it..

This "Mx Tournament" sounds like it would be a dream if it was ex-Rainbow developers along with JLV, and without
lame money hats at THQ calling the shots when they have no clue.

I wish there was a figure on the damn license already just so we knew what it would cost..

I'm guessing with the success of the series it will go for several million dollars, or several hundred million pesos.

Thanks for the dish checkerz, pretty much what I wanted to know.

"Bought UFC from THQ earlier"

They have already talked and made deals with TH. Why not just pick up another sports package while you're there?

I don't know if you'd want EA taking the franchise, they seem to be on this spree to ruin everything they get their hands on.

Maybe with PC gamers and DRM they have, but not really console owners..
As long as micro transactions don't equal a win and the quality matches FIFA then why not EA?

Because it wouldn't get any better than Alive, look at need for speed's terrible physics.

Microsoft needs to pick it up and put turn10 on it.

Yea I'd rather not see EA buy it. Besides they should still have the right to this-

I'd prefer if someone else bought it and actually made it better. But I wouldn't mind if EA released a new supercross/motocross game. The more merrier.

Lol at Microsoft!!!

If MS touches anything MX, it will be a casual Kinect-driven disaster.
They are way too focused on media and casuals ATM to even glance at this.

Codemasters
Evolution Studios
And yes even EA would be better.

And since when was Need for Speed a sim? Or anything relatively close? Poor argument..
Best compare it to Madden, where they predict Super Bowl winners yearly..
