New MX vs. ATV Reflex Preview

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

I know the game is probably still being developed, but why are the numbers so small?

The track maps must be really high resolution, it looks like it could be about 1-3 inches/pixel, and with the size of the map, it would have to be about 32768x32768 pixels (but of course, the game doesn't appear to use a displacement map like MVA Unleashed and MX Simulator.

The jersey's look like they hug the skin too much, with no apparent use of normal mapping

And how come we have better looking wheels in this game?

Yes the game is still under development, so everything you see still will see some polish.

Personally I think this game looks awesome! I can't wait to buy it. Also since we've got someone on here who's connected, I would definitely not mind seeing one or two of my own tracks in the game 8)

I actually do that. I use a 360 controller with the left stick steering, and right stick is rider lean. I find it much easier myself. It helps me avoid that accidental lean forward/back.

$$$$$

The pc game market is somethign like 1/158th the size of the console gaming market. Probably even less. Plus it's way more headache to make a game that works on an infinite number of hardware configurations then one that works on a single configuration.

It looks pretty cool. So did the other ones

No user created content is the killer for these games, IMO

If this game allows you the ability to hump anything, I'd choose the 30 second girl over the handlebars.

But that's just me.

I havent touched Untamed in like 6 months but here is a list of issues that I remember frustrating me...

- Physics too arcade. Felt like riding on rails - no balance needed, week engine torque, no consequences for WFO throttling. Buttons required to whip and scrub when leaning is all that should be needed.
- Collisions with other bikes/riders is too touchy. Riders fall off too easily after colliding with each other, especially Human vs AI, where human usually loses. Any mid air contact is fatal.
- Brakes never required. People are faster going WFO around burms (speed boosting), even in sx tracks. mx tracks never required touching brake.
- Outdoor mx tracks lacking. A few were fun but most were very wide tracks - you could fit 2 monster trucks side by side.
- Multiplayer lag. Fact of life I guess but sad in an xbox game where everyone is dsl or better required.
- Tuff Blocks. They litter the track after being hit. Too many people speed boosting the burms would leave a trail of these in the middle of the track for everyone else to dodge. I quit multiplayer because of it.
- Settings. For online, you had to quit a game to change a bike setting. No controller config.
- 0 DLC's. Not a single pack for new tracks for Untamed. People were crying for it.
- Unrelated vehicles. Takes a blue moon to see an atv race online, let alone anything else.

Are these unreasonable points? Ok, I can get over the physics or lack of dlc or the extra vehicles as a trade for fun racing, but the collisions, multiplayer, & tuff blocks i cannot. If i see those tuff blocks flying its over.

Checkers make them add Baja and Outdoor enduro races! JK, I know you probably have no say in that.
