Seats on MX bikes aren't meant to be couches. The only time you're supposed to be sitting is in corners, and starts. I find a stiffer seat in corners helps, because your bars are a little bit lower down. Could just be me though!

Because it doesn't set you up for the braking bumps at the end of the straight? Or even the corner at the end. The more you stand the more control you have. When people sit it's because they are at a low speed and need to have a lower center of balance to stay up. In corners people sit because it makes everything easier.

It's not a matter of fitness, gas sitting down is a thousand times less tiring than gas standing up is.

My dad bought an orange X-seat for my bike once. Was hideous. Sat on it and hated it even more. Harder than the stock KTM seats. I do like the stock KTM seats, though, because I feel like I can move around easier if I want to lean back while seatbouncing or something.
