Oh come on, let's think about this for a second. How many people are going to look at that image and think, "Hey, that picture has a point. I now see that people with mental handicaps are inferior and only deserve to be laughed at." That picture is harmless. There is not a single person on the face of this planet that will think any differently of disabled individuals because of it, so there's no reason to be offended by it. It seems today that you can't do or say anything without someone being offended for the "benefit" of someone else. What is the point you're trying to make here? There seems to be some flawed logic in this. People work hard to make a living + Someone makes a joke about said group = Said group is damaged in some way? If someone put a picture up with a witty line about pasty white fat people with glasses (me), I wouldn't think it was harmful, for the simple reason that it wouldn't be harmful. I will lament the day that humor is slaughtered in the name of sheltering people from the slightest bit of offense.

I apologize for the confrontational tone, but this is a serious problem with society today as I see it. Sheltering peoples' feelings is being placed higher on priority lists than humor, the truth, and even day-to-day happiness. In a world where everyone is offended by everything, because someone, somewhere might find it genuinely offensive, life will be nothing more than a scavenger-hunt for misery. I do understand where you're coming from, you are in a position where you feel you need to defend a group from attack, but the problem is, there isn't really an attack, and all you're doing is putting another brick in the wall.

I don't have a problem with picking on people, about things that aren't disabilities. To me, there is just something wrong when you make fun of a disability, or anything about a person which they can't control. I can laugh at broken bones, or just being ignorant stupid, but when you go to pick on special people, it's kind of over the line. But like I said, I have more than enough family members that are autistic or have some sort of learning disorder.

There is a line, really. You can change being a fat pasty white person. (Exercise, and sun, and lasik), but they can't change anything about them.

And I wasn't really defending them either. They get enough defense as it is, and I completely understand where you are coming from with PC, and I don't really think this is at all.

I say black, not african american. I say fuck the indians, they shot at us too, why should we pay their asses back? Just this, it's just something that has always bothered me. Beating someone up while they are defenseless.


EDIT: I'll give you three examples of this:

1. A kid at my school got cancer a few years back. Almost died, and still has it. A couple days ago, someone refered to him as 'cancer boy.', to his face, and ended up getting punched in the face. Is that right? No.

2. When my brother got into his car crash (in which his girlfriend passed), the following day(s), I kept hearing people say that he was a dumbass from not looking, and everything was his fault. If I wasn't depressed as all hell, I would have curb-stomped them all. Is that right?

3. I was driving back to school from McDonalds with a friend, and we passed my cousins boyfriend (who smells horrible and really shouldn't be with her at all), and my cousin is autistic, and he isn't. He just doesn't wipe after he shits, and doesn't shower. So, I go on to tell him that they are dating and no one likes it, and he says "The Durrrr kids need loving too.", along with the hand motion and the head twitch. Was that needed, no.
Beating a dead horse isn't something you, or I should do. Maybe I just have a little more experience on the recieving end of all this shit.
