KTM, although Kaw is now best in Jap bikes.

Choose what you wish, but i just went from a 14 ktm 450 to a new Kawi 450 and they both have their own pros and cons. Both of the motors are strong, but i find that you can rev out the Kawi more than i could with my Ktm. I was concerned going from a Ktm to a Kawi motor at first, but after getting a couple rides i can promise you that the Kawi is a beast. It all depends on your riding style of course. The front brakes are junk on the Kawis, but this is to be expected coming from a Ktm with stock Brembos.
The air forks surprisingly were easy to adapt to for me (for the 2 rides i have on the bike), but you do lose that connected feel to the ground when you get into rough braking bumps. The Kawi tracks alot better than the Ktm, meaning that the rear end does not want to push so i thought this was a big plus, as i had to add a pro circuit lowering linkage to my Ktm to try and keep the back end settled.
Both are great bikes, and i would recommend a Ktm any day of the week, but i must say that i am enjoying this Kawi thus far. Especially since i was able to have my Rekluse installed the other day. I do miss that magical vroom vroom button though.....

I'll bet the KTM electric start spoils you, the Kawi power modules and launch control are really cool features. I say KTM cuz they always come stock with trick stuff, but the Jap bikes have more trickle-down technology from racing. Honestly, for the money it's hard to beat the big 3.

The electric start is the best. For how light Ktm can keep their bikes with electric start it is surprising the japs dont take to it as well.

What would suggest, BSA, Norton, Triumph, Matchless or AJS? U.K. has so many to choose from!

I know magazine tests are subjective, but I really think MXA has the most informative reviews. At least worth a read.
