Well I know its not motocross but 2011 Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon was killed in an Indycar crash at Las Vegas this afternoon. I'm a big fan of all forms of motorsports and just wanted to extend my condolences. Thoughts and prayers to his family

It was terrible. I would say they're lucky there weren't 3 or 4 deaths from it. By far the worst racing crash I've ever witnessed

Without question. These cars have become extrememly safe, but too fast.

Agreed, after they lose downforce they could fly like a plane. They need to figure out a better way to keep them on the ground.

Just got back from the race, we got free tickets. Of course, the first Indy Car Race I go to, lasts only 13 laps and then someone dies
I could tell it was bad, especially when he was flight for life'd and they didn't say how bad he was injured. And they kicked everyone out of the on track trauma hospital thing because his injuries were so bad. Except they could of told us sooner, we sat there for about two hours before we got the news that the race was cancelled.

I saw it on TV, and I can't say I've ever watched an onboard of any sort of race and been legitimately scared myself until I watched what Wheldon had to go through. I couldn't imagine what it would have been like to have that happen.

I almost broke down in tears the first time i saw that. IRL needs to do something about this.
