Gradient Mesh

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

Gradient Mesh

Post by gomoto846 »

Didn't want to make a new thread for this but couldn't find a suitable one to post in. So I want to make a gradient in photoshop follow a path so it changes the direction of the gradient instead of just being straight across the selection. I google'd it and I think I found what I was looking for, but the process (called gradient mesh or gradient brush) is in Adobe Illustrator, not photoshop, which is what I have. I'd like to know if this same thing is possible in photoshop (cs4) and if so, how to do it. Thanks in advance. :)

This is what I am talking about:

There are two ways to get something similar.

First, is build the gradient in a straight line, and then warp it. CTRL+T, then right click and select "Warp"

Second, you can build your hillside and then create your path on a new layer and follow This http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5656 tutorial.

Forgot to add, if it is't for making tracks, then I'm not sure it will work.

yeah it's not for making tracks but if i ever decide to, I'll be sure to keep this in mind if it can come in handy. Thanks for the tip though, I'll try Ctrl+T
