New Rider for Two Two Motosports for outdoors

I was just informed that there will be a new person saddling up on Chad Reeds 450 backed Two Two Motosports for the start of the 2012 AMA Pro Motocross Championship. They have chosen a former world champion and a multiple winning AMA rider to take his place and contend for the championship. It came as quite a shock when I heard the rumor was true. It started to circulate back before Chad got hurt and now it is official. Ben Townley will be the new leader on the TWO TWO team while Chad is healing up. Here is what Townley had to say about his new opportunity "I’m really looking forward to racing the AMA Motocross Championship with TwoTwo Motorsports. It’s an incredible opportunity and one I will be grabbing with both hands. I can’t wait to work with the team to race and further develop the bike throughout the season." Chad said that Townley will still get the full support from factory Honda and Two Two Motosports that he had received before his unfortunate injury. Here is what Reed had to say about this new partnership “After the injury, surgery and the initial realization that I would be sidelined from competition for some time, I needed to consider the team’s ongoing development and if there was a rider that could step in and be competitive in the role. We believe in Ben's talent and work ethic, and combined with the great crew we have at TwoTwo Motorsports, I feel we have the formula to not only represent our sponsors but also challenge, win races and compete for the number 1 plate. I'm excited and I know the whole team is looking forward to getting back racing and supporting Ben." Personally I have always thought that Townley had the talent to take a number 1 plate home after that insane season in the lites when he battled with Villopoto and came up just a bit short. There is no doubt Townley has the speed and knowledge the only question is has he been out of the loop for to long now being plagued by injuries. I was glad to here that Two Two would be lining up at the gate for the outdoor season it is just to bad Chad wont be lining up as well.

What you don't believe it. I believe it was announced last night and if you missed it head over to my You Tube and you can view Chad announcing it. I just had the info ahead of time since I work for a race team. Plus it was announced somewhere else as well. Racer X announced it the day after.
