Just noticed this indent today on my bike, not sure if it could be serious and would be affecting in anyway, tell me what you think

as far as i can see it wouldnt effect your suspension.. i might be wrong

I wouldn't worry about it. That's a collar for the spring, sort of a guide to keep it in place. Your's is just chipped in a part that's not structurally important.
