Any ideas on some computer issues?

Ok so all of a sudden my usb ports starting acting up. i have 2 on the front 4 on the back, i've got 2 of them working (2 on the back)
So right now i have my mouse and wireless receiver plugged into them. the other usb ports DO NOT work, therefore i cannot plug my controller in, power is coming through them though because my mouse lights up if i put it in the others. it just doesnt work. This just all of a sudden happened. any ideas?

Im not an expert in computers...

But you could either see if there are any new mother board drivers. avaliable

Or get a USB board (Or what ever they are called) Which just makes one of your working USB ports to 4-5 Working ones. Kinda like a power board.

Turns out my motherboard is fried. i took it in to a local computer shop. they want like 300 dollars just to replace the mobo. I think im just going to buy a new computer, its 3 yrs old anyways.

nah i dont think its old, but if i can get a good computer for like 700-800 bucks brand new, i might as well do that rather than repair mine for 300. if nothing was wrong with mine i'd be keeping it.
