I am makeing my not so glorious return to raceing this season after a 3 year hiatus. I wanted to talk alittle bit about training and see what works good for some of you guys. I have been jogging 4 days a week scince the end of march and some light weight lifting but i feel like I should be doing more.
So what works for you?

haha all winter i sit on my ass and play Call of Duty and MXS, then when spring time comes, I normally go mountain biking or bmxing quite a bit, and I just ride as much as i can... just take it slow and you'll catch up quick.

Run, atleast 3-4 times a week, when you get in shape run every day, dosent matter how far just so you keep it going, If you want to build muscles, Eat Beef or something after you've been running or been lifting weights. a tip if you dident know is eat 2 hours before you train, its increasing you stamina level. Perhaps if you got a bike you could do that instead of running, peace and best luck, (this is my experience from boxing and old mx training by a old swedish Mx Wc rider) And if you'r gonna go down in weight just eat fruits after training.

It's more personalized than what you would think. It's not about whatever people tell you to do, it's what you need to work on. For instance, my cardio is shit. (I wonder why.

), so I ride my bike every day, and depending on how the weather is, I'll either go 8 miles or 20. Other than that, I eat strictly salads/meats/breads.
I generally try to avoid most fattening things, and I try to eat extremely healthy. The only thing I have ever gotten at McDonalds was a salad with none of their gnarly ass dressing or chicken.
Other than that, if you aren't serious about racing or anything, I would highly suggest just riding yourself back into shape. It's going to work on what you need most. MX specific muscle groups, technique, and general MX know how. This is what most of my friends do, and it really does pay off. In a few weeks you will be good to go, as long as you don't take a long break anywhere.
