V8 Supercars celibrity erace at Bathurst, featuring Chad Reed, Toby Price, Dan Reardon, amongst others. I got a good chuckle from a few of the crashes. Fun to watch

I had no idea about this race and I happened to wake up at 4:00am and got on instagram and saw Toby Price post about his car. Went to the facebook page thinking it had already happened and they were already on the grid and took off about 10 seconds later. Couldn't have been any better timing.

I love how iRacing now has an actual percent-of-track-loaded meter. Oh, and I'm now Bill "Fucking" Elliot!

Found out to my disappointment that the 350z car mod for Assetto Corsa was anywhere but close to the real thing. After a day and a half of fixing issues, it's finally starting to resemble a Z.

A list of the changes I made.
- Engine torque curve now matches the VQ35DE, minus drivetrain losses
- Engine inertia is changed to be more inline with the official 370z (not identical though)
- Rev limiter is at correct rpm
- Final drive ratio fixed
- Gearbox shifting times changed
- Gearbox inertia changed
- Idle rpm fixed
- Coasting torque changed to be more inline with the official 370z
- Gas tank volume fixed
- Gas tank location changed closer to reality
- Front suspension switched from McPherson strut to double wishbone
- Daytona Blue color choice added
- Spedometer step fixed
- Power and torque curves in car selection corrected to real values
- Dash lights brightened up so the gauges actually show up when lights are on
- Car mass fixed to match the Track trim level

I intend to, but currently the biggest issues for that are, that the old mod's 3d model is ripped from Forza and the original sounds do not work properly in recent AC version. I changed the sounds to the official 370z for myself but that obviously can't be bundled into a download. I asked in a couple of discords and AC forum for help with the 3d model and sounds, but I'm not expecting any replies to be honest. It's rare for anyone to jump at the chance to do a lot of work.
I'd really like to make it a high quality mod, since pretty much all car games are lacking in good 350z for some reason. I'm not opposed to paying for a model and sounds either, but of course since it's just a free mod, my budget for that would be somewhat limited.

Did some more work on it yesterday and added VQ35HR version, as well as 5AT transmission. Masses for 6MT versions match the Track trim and for 5AT the Touring trim. Added a gear selector digital instrument to the center console info pod that was empty, did 11 of the official colors ( Brickyard, Interlagos Fire, Lemans Sunset, Solar Orange, Pikes Peak White, Redline, San Marino Blue, Daytona Blue, Superblack, Silverstone & Ultra Yellow) and upscaled the interior dash textures to 3x via AI.

I still need to measure the suspension points from a real car, which I'll do the next time I'm taking the wheels off mine. Another thing to do would be to make the car's inertia more accurate. AC uses a simple solid cuboid for car's mass moment of inertias unless you specify specific inertias. When I was working on a 940 volvo for RBR, there was a big difference in the car's inertia from a cuboid to a shape closer to the actual car. Some US traffic organization had actually measured the inertia for a 740 Volvo, which is very similar to 940. When I compared the inertias from my slightly more detailed CAD model to the cuboid, it was much closer to the real life measurement.

This is how I modeled the volvo in CAD back then for the inertias.
